In 2007, Melissa experienced an aggressive form of end-stage renal failure. Within a matter of 24 hours, she was on dialysis and preparing for a complete change of life.
Fortunately, our cousin, Michelle, was practically a 100% match (a miracle in itself!) and was able to donate a kidney within a matter of months. However, the average life-span of a living-donor kidney transplant is anywhere from 13-15 years.
In Dec. 2021, Melissa experienced renal failure once again and is in need of a transplant. Some of her close friends and family are already applying but we can still use your help! Please consider becoming a donor and part of HERstory!
